SoHi, a superglam wedding space (cocktail party, anyone?) at the Trump Soho

True, the last thing you want at your wedding is someone telling the minister, “You’re fired!” Still, if you’re in search of a glam, only-in-New-York celebration, you might just put The Donald in charge. Not that we suggest letting him orchestrate the music or choose the bridesmaids dresses, but his hotel in downtown Manhattan, the Trump Soho, is one mighty tempting venue. Here’s why:

1. Location. Your parents’ generation may have done their partying along the blue-blood boulevards of the Upper East Side, but the social scene has shifted downtown. Your location—in the buzz of Soho—lends itself to the kind of people-watching and cocktailing that young-uns adore. And that goes double for out-of-towners.

2. Views. Mr. Trump purchased the “air rights” of the surrounding blocks (best not to ask how), so his hotel’s higher elevations, including the glorious SoHi event space (pictured, above), have 360-degree views of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Joisey. Book a suite and the vista from your bathtub may be nearly as sublime.

3. Ivanka. This woman knows a thing or two about style and pizazz, and her fingerprints are evident throughout the tower, from the acres of white marble and Turkish mosaics in the spa to the guest rooms’ femme-meets-futuristic design.

4. Party spaces. In addition to the aforementioned SoHi, you’ve got a floor of ballrooms with natural light (a rarity in New York), a sensual pool deck, and perhaps the most exclusive club in Manhattan: The Spot. Open only from 10 P.M. to 2 A.M., this would make one heckuva site for an after-party.

5. The staff. Maybe it takes a demanding boss to mold such an accommodating staff, but from the bellman who rushes out with an umbrella to the front desk clerk who shakes your hand while delivering your key, these people understand real hospitality.
