In celebration of the 50th anniversary of James Bond—and the release of Skyfall, the long-awaited 23rd Bond movie—we’ve been shaken (and stirred) while viewing the iconic spy thrillers, which have been shot in such eye-popping locations as the Swiss Alps, Montenegro, Cuba, India, Dubai, Russia and Instanbul. While not every locale makes sense for a destination wedding, here’s one that does: GoldenEye Resort in Oracabessa, Jamaica, the former home of writer Ian Fleming, who retreated to this seaside hideaway to dream up 007 and his globe-trotting adventures. The 21-unit property encompasses several of the original villas—including Fleming’s personal digs—plus a scattering of cottages and suites, in addition to secret coves, breathtaking private beaches, tropical forests, and a singular lagoon. Your guy should feel free to wear a white dinner jacket and bow tie, but might we suggest you skip the martinis and opt for rum cocktails instead?—Barrie Gillies
