One of the things that gives a DW a dose of regional style is the pour: Margaritas in Mexico, mai tais in Hawaii—they bring a tasty shot of authenticity to cocktail hour. So what to serve in a place without its own signature drink? Look into the local wine. On a recent visit to the Outer Banks, we discovered a vibrant selection of North Carolina bottles, from easy-drinking whites to serious reds. (We found the two pictured here at Trio, a richly stocked wine store/cheese shop in Kitty Hawk.) Give the bottles a prominent spot on the bar—these labels are decor in themselves.
