Getting married in Hawaii sounds like it would take mega-bucks and months of planning. And if you’re focusing on five-star resorts with a celeb clientele, you’d be right. But unlike most resorts, which insist that you guarantee your guests will book a minimum number of rooms for several nights, Kauai Shores has come up with a “no commitments” wedding special. Everyone who stays at the hotel for your wedding snags a 12% discount, regardless of how many rooms you book, how many nights you stay, or even if you have a signed contract.
This won’t be the fanciest wedding on the island—you’re just going to have to ignore the vending machines in the lobby—but with two pools, six acres of seaside lawns and gardens, and the Pacific Ocean over your shoulder, you’ve got the basic Hawaiian necessities. And you’re just a couple of miles from the town of Kapaa, so there’s a good assortment of local restaurants for group gatherings—everything from Tiki Taco (puffy corn tortillas and the day’s catch) to Oasis, for a farm-to-table menu with a view of the water (they’ll do private parties, too—hello, rehearsal dinner!).
