DIY woodblock favors from Happy Serendipity

You’re doing a lot for your guests. Magical setting. Fab food. Awesome music. Do you really need to think about wedding favors?

Nah, of course not. But this DIY idea I found on Amanda Kingloff’s blog The Violet Hours, which examines all things crafty and classy, is so adorable, you may not be able to resist. Particularly if  you’re getting married someplace wild and woodsy, like a lodge in the Rockies or a lakeside camp in the great state of Maine.

Amanda herself found the project on yet another blog (yes, this is a blog about a blog about a blog!), Happy Serendipity. Go there to follow the DIY steps, which are utterly simple (you start with sliced pieces of timber from a crafts store). You can personalize the coasters with the name of your signature cocktail (Mid-Mountain Martini), a detail of the local flora, or even each guest’s name. It’s a small gift friends will be toasting to—and with—for years to come.—Barrie Gillies
