Lela Rose destination wedding gowns for St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort
We’ve always loved the wedding dresses created by designer Lela Rose. (So does Hollywood—Cameron Diaz and Anne Hathaway are fans.) Her use of lace and embroidery make even her daytime pieces look special occasion-worthy and she has a knack for marrying contemporary, female-friendly cuts with out-and-out romance. As WWD puts it, she turns out pieces that are “ladylike but with a cool twist.”
Wander over to her website and you’ll find strapless satin mermaid gowns, body-conscious sheaths with illusion necklines, and minis with asymmetrical peplums. But you won’t find the three designs pictured here, which comprise an exclusive capsule collection she created for brides marrying at the St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort in Puerto Rico.
Inspired by the resort and destination, the gowns are light enough for a tropical wedding but feature the luxurious hand-finished details the designer is known for. As she puts it, “It was easy to find inspiration in the serene and breathtaking setting of Puerto Rico. The harmony between the resort and the natural surroundings provided ample material and has translated beautifully into dresses that will most certainly make a statement on such a special day.”
Choose from an off-the-shoulder frock with floral detail; a ballgown overlain with sheer lace and a skirt mimicking ocean waves; and a fit-and-flare with a hand-emroidered bodice. All start at $5,995, plus alterations; once you book your wedding at the St. Regis Bahia Beach, the sewing begins (each gown is made to order). And then it’s up to you to decide if you want to wear it at a tiny oceanfront ceremony, a grand gathering on the resort’s limitless lawn, or a terrace swept by sea breezes. Whatever the site, you know the dress, and the day, are guaranteed to be one-of-a-kind.
