The Pearl Rosemary Beach Florida

The Pearl, Rosemary Beach, Florida

It’s a good thing Destination:W is not a print magazine. Just last month, we talked about the possibilities for destination weddings along Northwest Florida Panhandle’s Emerald Coast, and already those possibilities have expanded.

Yesterday was the official opening of The Pearl, a 55-room boutique hotel in the planned community of Rosemary Beach, on the Gulf of Mexico 20 minutes from the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport.

Much of the appeal of The Pearl is likely to be that it’s look fits in with a community, of cobblestone streets and balconied upper stories, designed to have a West Indian feel. But what evidence is there that brides and grooms in particular might be attracted to The Pearl? How about that the first wedding takes place in a few weekends, and for it the wedding party and guests bought out the entire place?

What that wedding group will have all to themselves is a spa; a restaurant; The Havana Bar & Grill, featuring a fusion of Gulf Coast, Creole, and Cuban fare; and rooms and suites with balconies, rainforest showers in the bathrooms, and, we hope for the bride and groom, the Pearl Suite, which is in a renovated clock tower.

Oh, and they’ll also have venues, on the beach, with the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico as a backdrop – Bob Payne.
