A Barbados Wedding on the sands of the Platinum Coast means sunsets included
Great beaches. Great food. Great rum. What’s not to love about a destination wedding on Barbados? Especially now that the Barbados Tourism Authority has dreamed up a deal where brides can say “I do,” for free, including accommodation and airfare from pretty much anywhere in the U.S.
There’s always the fine print, of course. Including the requirement that you book at least 10 hotel rooms for four nights. But what you get, in addition to a free stay at your choice of 17 hotels, is a sweet little Caribbean beach wedding, which you can embellish as you like. As the bride, you’re showered with free passes to all sorts of island activities (feel like a catamaran cruise? how about a submarine ride?), and your groom and the rest of the wedding party are eligible for discounts, in case you’d like some company on that sunset sail.
The hotels cover a wide range of styles and budgets and include some of our Barbadian favorites including The House, an adults-only boutique beauty that sits on the sands of the Platinum Coast, and its neighbor, the informal, family-friendly, Tamarind.
The free wedding you’ll snag includes:
- Officiant / Minister’s Fees
- Transport to Registry Office to obtain marriage license

For an extra charge, you can upgrade the package and engage the services of a wedding coordinator.
Now for the deets: You have to book before May 31, 2015, for wedding travel September 1, 2014 through December 15, 2015. The package is only valid for the first 100 brides who sign up. And your airfare is capped at $1,000—not a problem for most U.S. travelers, but do some research.
