There’s certainly nothing wrong with getting married by the sea. But for something really different, why not under it? And without even getting your hair wet?

You can on the island of Maui, where Hawaiian Island Weddings offers ceremonies for up to 20 guests aboard a private submarine based in Lahaina.

Subs don’t come cheap. The 45-minute dive at depths of up to 150 feet will cost you $5,495.  But if you do take the plunge the package includes a minister, singer/guitarist, an onsite coordinator, and professional video and photography. They’ll supply the bridal bouquet, too, and crown you with a flowery head piece.

Once word gets out about what you’re up to, or, more precisely, down to, you’ll probably have more guests wanting to get on board than Noah had to wrangle. But in the unlikely event that there’s only the two of you Hawaiian Island Weddings can arrange witnesses, as well, including plenty of the finny kind that will be peering through the viewing portals. —Bob Payne
