The last few years we’ve seen wedding gowns that worked very hard to look like anything BUT wedding gowns. We saw slinky slip dresses and youthful trapeze docks and cut-out gowns that were really more suited to the bedroom than a wedding

And then came this extraordinary creation from Monique Lhuillier’s Spring 2014 collection. Romantic, ceremonial, and feminine, it brings bridal chic to a whole new level. The gown’s sweetheart neckline and textured fluidity are sensual counterpoint to the flowing lace cape. It’s sort of like wearing your veil on your shoulders!

I can see this dress making a quietly stunning entrance in a candlelit abbey in France or on a terrace beside a sun-dappled vineyard in Oregon. Anyplace, in fact, where you find an ample amount of beauty and grace. — Sarah Leingang
