Even if you don’t know a pommel from a Palomino, it’s hard to beat the Western allure of Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort, a 10,000-acre spread in Santa Barbara wine country. Ronald Reagan–a guy who knew a thing or two about the good life–built his ranch just over the rise, and upper crust Californians have been gathering here for 60 years. The weekend wedding package, just under $1,000 per person, includes all meals, daily trail rides, a fly-fishing lesson, massages, a moonlit hay ride, rustic-cozy accommodations (all rooms have wood-burning fireplaces), even the wedding reception. Do the math, and see if you’re not singing “yippee-iy-yay” all the way to the altar.

If there’s no moon for the hay ride, will they reduce the price some?
Can you get the ride without the hay?

Something tells me that the folks at Alisal have a deal with the moon–so not to worry!
