I have had a long-standing love affair with Suzanna Dai jewelry. Not only are designer Suzie Gallehugh’s jewels hand-beaded and crazy beautiful, but most of them are done on leather backings, making them ultra-light and so easy to wear. She manages to create pieces that have a vintage feel yet are totally modern and unique.
Suzie’s sister recently wed in North Carolina, so of course she designed pieces just for the occasion. She created an exquisite necklace of greens, blues and blush for the bride and stunning complementary danglers for the bridesmaids. The results were so beautiful, she’s added them to her line.
It’s not only friends and family who get the special treatment. Suzie will work with any bride to collaborate on custom pieces. They start at $175 and go up depending on the intricacy, with a $50 fee per custom order. You need a bit of patience though…custom work takes 6-8 weeks.
