Getting married in Jamaica is straightforward.

Once you successfully apply for a marriage license, the only residency requirement is that couples must be on Jamaica 24 hours before their wedding date.

To apply for a marriage license, you’ll need: Notarized copies of birth certificates, which must include the father’s name. Government issued photo ID’s, such as a passport or driver’s license. If the bride or groom were married before, certified final divorce papers or death certificate of the former spouse. Also include your occupations.

No blood tests are required.

Same-sex marriage is not legal in Jamaica.

Most resorts can take care of all the details, but usually require you to have all the necessary paperwork in to them at least a month ahead of time.
