The Mayan calendar predicts the world will end on December 21, 2012, but in case it doesn’t, the folks at the Rosewood Mayakoba, on the Riviera Maya (Mexico’s east coast), have just poured a truckload of pesos into renovating the all-suite property. We love it because it’s perfect for small weddings—with new mega-suites that work beautifully for small groups, and La Cava, the wine cellar, which would make a fantastico reception spot for eight special people. And it’s downright amazing for big ones: Just take a look at the beachside party palapa, above, which can accommodate 250 tequila-toasting guests. And how’s this for a spa treatment: the two-and-a-half-hour (!) Mayan Equinox Ritual, designed to prepare you for “a new beginning.” If not now, when?
