The antiques arranged in library and dining room are genuine, and the gardens are worth a visit in their own right. All-inclusive house party rates make it attractive for groups (they can accommodate up to 30), and there’s a good variety of accommodations, from snug “value” bedrooms to a separate lodge that sleeps 10. And what may be the only negative—getting here involves a three-and-a-half-hour drive from Bar Harbour—can actually work in your favor, keeping your guest list small and sincere.
