St. Bart's posh and pretty Christopher hotel hosts some of the Caribbean's most stylish weddings.

St. Barts weddings are posh and pretty at the just-reopened Hôtel Christopher, one of the Caribbean’s most stylish hideaways.

St. Barts (or St. Barths, if you’re of the French persuasion) took it on the chin during the 2017 hurricane season, but today things are looking downright peachy on this gem of the Caribbean. That includes The Christopher, a 42-room clifftop enclave that spent the past year giving itself a thorough refresh, and which just re-opened for business with spot-on sunset views and a trio of dreamy wedding venues.

There’s Mango, a seaside restaurant where you can seat up to 70 guests for a fabulous feet-in-the-sand dinner (a neat trick, as the hotel is on a cliff overlooking the sea). If you want to trade bare toes for strappy sandals and make things just a tad more formal, Taïno is a larger spot adjacent to the pool’s lounge area, handy for guests who might like a ti punch before the main event. And then there’s the infinity pool itself–the largest on the island. Picture that sinuous deck outfitted with a tidy arena of chairs, floral sculptures floating in the water, as you exchange vows backed by one of the region’s glorious sunsets.

The Christopher is in Point Milou, a posh residential neighborhood of glorious holiday villas. Which means days are quiet: You’ll probably spend most of your pre- and post-wedding hours floating in the pool and sighing in the open-air spa, where a new massage is said to mimic the sounds and movement of the waves. You’ll want a car—and a fearless driver—for tooling into the chic little town of Gustavia for shopping and people-watching. But even in quiet Point Milou, there’s action at Le Ti St. Barth, a legendary nightspot where costumes, sparklers, and pole dancing are part of the menu.
