The medieval hamlet of Eze is one of the busiest tourist spots in the South of France: Busloads of visitors are deposited in the parking lot, then hike up the cobblestone streets to drink in Cote d’Azur views at the summit. But step through the sturdy doorway of the Chateau Eza, and you’ll feel as though you’re in a private Mediterranean estate–in fact, it was once home to a Swedish prince. The main appeal—aside from 12 atmospheric rooms and suites—is the Michelin-starred restaurant, which serves a reasonable lunch (three courses for $63) and a quite remarkable eight-course dinner. It’s not easy to marry in the village chapel (there’s  a three-month residency requirement, for starts); instead, invite a handful of friends to witness a blessing on the chateau terrace followed by one of the best meals of your life, with the lights of the Riviera twinkling below. It’s an unforgettable start to a marriage.
