In my latest blog for CNTraveler.com, I profiled five resorts, inns, and lodges across the Southern U.S. that couldn’t be more different, but would each make a delightful destination wedding site.
Here, the top five: The Sanderling, a beach resort on the Outer Banks; The Inn at Little Washington, a foodie mecca in the Virginia countryside; The Cloister, a grand old timer on Sea Island, Georgia, that’s been completely rebuilt; Tennessee’s Inn at Blackberry Farm, for the ultimate in rustic romance; and Soniat House, a New Orleans charmer.
So whether you’re a couple of diehard traditionalists who want the same magnolia-festooned elegance your parents had, or back-t0-the-land types with a thing for fine linens, chances are we’ve got the place for you.

I’ve stayed at the Soniat House. It was delightful! I can only imagine how terrific it would be to have a destination wedding there. Everyone would have a great time. Thanks for bringing back a fond memory of my trip to NO!
