A PHOENIX SCOTTSDALE WEDDING MIGHT BE PERFECT IF YOU . .

  • Think more than 330 days of sunshine a year will work well with your plans
  • Already know that the correct way to pronounce saguaro cactus is “sah-whar-oh”
  • Hubby-to-be doesn’t care where the wedding is, as long as there’s golf

LAY OF THE LAND

Not too long ago, couples considered Phoenix and Scottsdale (two cities joined at the hip) for a destination wedding only if horses, cactii, and sunshine had to be part of the mix. You can still have all that, but now there are other enticements and rewards: distinctive regional cuisine, a spa scene like no other in the nation, resorts whose setting and service rivals any on the globe, world-class golf and tennis, and active pursuits that will make your guests want to stay on just a few days longer.  Not to mention rugged scenery so iconic, it’s been the backdrop for a thousand westerns. June through September, you’ll need to balance bargain rates with intense heat, although some brides see it as the perfect excuse to end everything with a trash-the-dress ritual in the hotel pool.
