Imagine a wedding at sunset on Petit St. Vincent, a Caribbean island you can call yours alone

Nothing says “You are my whole world” like getting married on your own private island. Especially if the island is one of the most idyllic in the Caribbean, and you can invite a boatload of guests.

The island is Petit St. Vincent, in the Grenadines. Its two-mile ring of beaches encircles 115-acres occupied entirely by a 22-villa resort of the same name. For five days, you and up to 54 of your friends will have it to yourselves.

You’ll need deep pockets, or, better yet, parents with deep pockets, as the rate for the five-day minimum is $136,000. But that includes everything from meals to spa treatments to enough water sports to keep even pirates like Jack Sparrow happily occupied.

A special treat is that Petit St. Vincent was completely renovated in 2011, so that its heavenly native stone and wood villas, all on their own private section of beach, are even more heavenly.

A few details: You arrive via a short boat ride from nearby Union Island after a flight from Barbados, all of which can be done in a day from the U.S. East Coast. The marriage laws are simple, requiring no more than an overnight residency, but you do have to apply for the license in person on St. Vincent, which is easy enough to arrange.

If you can’t swing all of Petit St. Vincent, it’s possible to arrange a wedding just for the two of you. But before you dismiss the idea of being queen of your own island nuptials, consider what it would cost to stage a hometown wedding that would come even close to this one in “Wow!” —Bob Payne
