Donna Karan’s beach house on Parrot Cay, one chic Caribbean wedding headquarters

It’s so easy to get to the Turks & Caicos islands (a quick two-and-a-half-hour flight from New York) and the wide beaches and aqua waters are so travel-poster gorgeous, that weddings here have become very  big business. In fact, a dozen companies offer planning services, and sunset on the main island of Provodenciales often brings a parade of brides and grooms headed down to the water for a portrait session.

So what’s a couple to do when you want those turquoise waters and cotton-white sands, but you also want a wedding unlike any other? You rent Donna Karan’s place. Her 11-room villa on Parrot Cay by COMO, a private-island resort with a luxurious lodge and a handful of extraordinary vacation homes, is available for a cool $30,000 a night. That buys you the designer’s  main house and two guest houses that shelter a total of 11 bedrooms, a formal indoor dining area that seats 20, a screened guest pavilion, infinity pool, and full kitchen—plus the services of two private chefs. Available through Villas of Distinction, its Zen-like interiors, eclectic art, and global furnishings are as elegant and comfortable as Karan’s fashions themselves.

Turks is an absolutely wonderful place to get married. My husband and I stayed at The West Bay Club (which is amazing) and, while we were there, two weddings took place on the beach (on different days!). They were each completely different and the resort took pains to make sure that they were very special for each couple.
